Duke is a lovable, giant of a dog. He is a large breed, possibly a Mastiff, and is estimated to be about 3 years old. Duke’s foster mom loving calls him booger, but he actually doesn’t drool much ! He knows basic obedience and continues to learn new commands in his foster home. Duke walks well on a leash and LOVES to go for car rides. In his foster home Duke lives with another large dog and 4 cats, and he would enjoy being adopted into a home with another dog friend. However Duke will need closer supervision with playing with other dogs. He is still learning how to live with cats, and while he does not seem to wish them harm, sometimes he gets too exuberant! Duke is loveable, goofy, sweet and enjoys attention. He will lean into you for scratches and likes to sleep nearby for hours. He spends most of the day sleeping on a pile of blankets, looking outside, and wandering in the sun. Duke will need a home with a semi- experienced dog owner. He is a kind boy but can jump and gently mouth when excited. He loves to play and cuddle, and tries to be super gentle, but he is a big boy with giant feet. Duke loves to meet children when out for walks in the park. He has some separation anxiety and can be quite the escape artist, so he will need a 6-foot fenced yard when left alone outside or a secure crate for inside. Duke gets very excited at the chance to play with other dogs, to help with his energy he is trained to respond to a e-collar beep or buzz. His adoption fee of $300 includes a microchip, vaccinations, and neuter surgery.
